Event posts let you share training sessions, special classes, and team gatherings — and track who's coming in one place.
Your team RSVPs right from the post, and you can set a capacity, an RSVP deadline, and automatic reminders.
How to create an Event post
1. Create Post
Start a new Event from web or the NetGym app:
Web: Navigate to Posts → + New Post → select Event.
NetGym app: Tap Posts in the bottom navigation bar → tap the + icon → select Event.
2. Add the Event Details
Add a header image (optional) — upload your own, or search for a stock image or GIF. Use the edit and remove icons in the top-right corner of the image to swap or delete it.
Enter a title.
Choose a location — one of your studios, Virtual (with a field for the meeting link), or a custom address.
Set the date and start/end time.
Set a capacity (optional) to cap how many people can attend.
Add a body and any attachments.
3. Configure Post Settings
Setting | Default | What it does |
RSVP by date | — | The deadline for your team to respond. |
Auto-Reminder | Off | When on, choose how often reminders go out to people who haven't responded. Requires an RSVP by date. |
Require app pop-up | Off | Shows the Event as a pop-up when staff open the NetGym app. |
Allow comments | Off | Lets your audience comment on the Event. |
Allow emojis | On | Lets your audience react with emojis. |
Comments are off by default. If you want attendees to ask questions in the post, turn on Allow comments. Managers and above can comment either way.
4. Choose your audience
Select your Target Audience by filtering on Regions, Locations, Teams, Skills, and/or Roles.
If your account uses regions — or has more than 10 locations — locations appear as a dropdown so you can select an entire region at once.
If your account doesn't use teams, the Teams filter won't appear.
Use Search audience to find specific people, and Select all or Deselect all to adjust the list quickly.
To remove an individual, click the X next to their name.
To invite everyone, keep the audience set to All Locations and All Teams.
5. Review and send
Review your Event, then click Post. Need to fix something? Click the pencil icon to jump straight back to the details step — no need to click back through each step.
How to filter Event posts after it's sent
Front the left panel, click Events. In the center panel, click the filter icon to access filter options:
Sort by — order the list by Created date or Due date.
Show unread — show only Events you haven't read.
Pending action — show only Events you haven't RSVP'd to yet.
Date sent — set a date range to display Announcements sent within this timeframe
Locations — show only Events at specific locations. Use the search bar in the dropdown to find a location quickly.
Sender (Managers and above) — show only Events sent by specific people.
Posts not sent to me (Managers and above) — include Events sent at your location(s) even if you weren't in the audience.
How to track RSVPs
Your team responds to an Event with Going, Maybe, or Not Going — the same options appear on web, in the NetGym app, and in the email notification.
Click any Event to open it in the right panel, then switch the Post / Analytics toggle to Analytics:
Sent — reached via your audience
Unread — delivered but not viewed
Read — opened and viewed
RSVP — total responses and how many are going
Click any metric to filter the Audience list. To nudge people who haven't opened the Event, add a comment and tag @unread or click the comment button from the unread audience list.
Post Management
From the icons at the top right, you can:
Set notification preferences (bell icon) — get notified of all activity or only when you're tagged.
Edit the content (pencil icon) — then choose to notify your audience of the update or save without notifying.
Edit settings and audience (gear icon) — only newly added people are notified.
Archive (folder icon) — removes it from your inbox view without deleting it.
Delete (trash can icon) — permanently removes the Event after you confirm.
Copy the post link (share icon)
Changing the date, time, or location? Edit with the pencil icon and choose to notify your audience so attendees see the update.
