When you edit a shift that's part of a recurring series and choose "This and all future shifts" or "All shifts in this series," NetGym checks for any shifts in that series with a cover request, whether they're open, pending, or approved.
If it finds one, you're prompted to decide how to handle it before your changes are saved.
Changing the assignee
When updating the assignee of a recurring series, you'll see a modal listing each affected shift with a cover request.
Select from the following:
Keep — the shift stays with the person who was approved to cover it. Your assignee change is not applied to that shift.
Update — the shift is reassigned to the new staff you selected.
The existing approved cover request is automatically canceled, and the person who was covering is notified they're no longer scheduled for it.
Cancel — the cover request is canceled outright.
The original requester is notified their request was canceled. This also applies to "Unassigned" cover requests.
Changing something other than the assignee
When updating something other than the assignee (e.g. time or location) in a recurring series, you'll see the same modal that flags shifts with cover requests.
Select from the following:
Cancel — discard your changes
Save and do not notify — apply the changes without alerting anyone
Save and notify — apply the changes and notify the current assignee of what changed
Frequently Asked Questions
Are affected staff members notified?
Are affected staff members notified?
Yes. Affected staff members are notified by email and push. If the change impacts only a single shift, they'll see that shift's details.
If it impacts multiple shifts in the series, they'll receive a consolidated notification summarizing all affected shifts.
