Copy Shifts saves you scheduling time by duplicating a previous week's shifts into your current week — instead of rebuilding everything from scratch. You can choose to bring shift assignments along, or copy the shifts as unassigned.
How to Copy Shifts
Navigate to Schedule → Team Schedule. At the top right of the calendar, click the Copy icon to Copy Shifts from a Previous Period.
In the Copy Shifts modal, select a time period and week to copy from:
Last week
Toggle Keep shift assignments on or off:
On — shifts copy into the current week as drafts, with the same staff assigned
Off — shifts copy into the current week as drafts, unassigned
Copied shifts land as drafts — review and publish when you're ready for your team to see them.
Unavailability Warnings
If Keep shift assignments is on, NetGym automatically checks each assigned staff member's availability in the week you're copying into.
You'll see a warning above the Copy Shifts button If anyone has:
approved time off
an unavailability block
a conflicting shift
You can still click Copy Shifts and any flagged assignment copies over as "unassigned" rather than assigning someone who isn't available; everyone else's assignment copies as normal.
The check re-runs automatically if you change the source period, and it only appears when Keep shift assignments is toggled on.
