Front Desk Staff Quick Start: Using NetGym for Shifts

This guide covers everything front desk staff need to know to use NetGym for scheduling, shift coverage, and (if required) clocking in and out.

What NetGym Is (and Isn’t)

NetGym is the source of truth for:

  • Your scheduled shifts

  • Shift changes and updates

  • Shift coverage requests

  • Clocking in and out (if required for your role)

NetGym is not:

  • A messaging replacement for urgent, same-day issues

  • A place to manually edit or process payroll

How You’ll Use NetGym

📅 View Your Schedule

  • Open NetGym (mobile app recommended)

  • Go to My Schedule to see upcoming shifts (and/or classes)

  • Any changes update automatically — no screenshots, spreads, or texts needed

🔁 If You Can’t Work a Shift

  • Request Shift Coverage directly in NetGym

  • Eligible teammates are notified automatically

  • Once coverage is approved, the schedule updates on its own

⚠️ Don’t text teammates to swap shifts.
If it’s not done in NetGym, it doesn’t count.

🔔 Notifications You Should Pay Attention To

You’ll be notified when:

  • You’re assigned to a shift

  • A shift changes

  • Coverage is approved or denied

👉 If you stop getting notifications, check your app notification settings.

⏱️ Clocking In & Out (If Required)

Some roles require time tracking.

If this applies to you:

  • Clock in and out directly from your shift in NetGym

  • Your manager will tell you if clocking is required for your role

Forgot to clock in or out? Let your manager know.

Quick Answers to Common Questions

“Why does my shift show a dash (–)?”
That means there’s no scheduled time or no clock activity yet.

“My hours look wrong.”

Check whether you clocked in and out correctly. If it still looks off, ask a manager.

“I don’t see my shift.”
Make sure you’re logged into the correct account and check the date range.
